How we started
Like many great ideas, Ultralytics started with a simple belief: AI should be open, accessible, and powerful enough to change the world.
It began with Glenn Jocher, who saw the potential of computer vision but also its complexity. Determined to make AI easier to use and more impactful, he built the first versions of Ultralytics YOLO—an open-source model that quickly became the go-to choice for developers, researchers, and businesses worldwide.
